The STACK and NaoMod teams at IMT Atlantique (Nantes, France) are actively looking for a high-profile candidate for a CIFRE PhD thesis with the Alter way company (Paris, France). The topic is at the crossroads of Software Engineering/Modeling, Cloud Computing/Distributed Systems and DevOps. Already having a first experience in Computer Science research (e.g., via a master thesis, an internship in a lab or even an actual publication) is a prerequisite. Strong programming skills (e.g., in Python) as well as solid oral and written communication capabilities in English will also be highly appreciated. Conditions


The candidate will sign a 36-month contract with the Alter way company and will also be registered as a PhD student at IMT Atlantique. The work will mostly take place at the Alter way premises in Saint-Cloud (near Paris), with regular stays and visits at IMT Atlantique in Nantes during this 3-year period. She/he will have a yearly gross salary of 35K€ (including complete health insurance and other benefits provided by the French social security system), with possible evolution during the course of the PhD. Profile and Skills


The candidate must hold a master’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, ideally with some knowledge on Cloud Computing (or more generally on Distributed Systems), DevOps practices and/or Software Engineering and Modeling. In addition, strong programming skills are highly appreciated. She/he must also have solid oral and written communication skills in English, with the aim to publish and present the PhD research results in high-level international journals and conferences. In terms of relational skills, autonomous, curious and strongly motivated candidates are more than welcome!
